Equinet's second AI training - Legal Advice Clinic with a practical focus on litigation - took place in February 2022. During this training, specific legal cases (both real and fictitious) involving suspected algortihmic discrimination and brought by National Equality Bodies were discussed. This training was aimed at NEB staff interested in AI, as well as NEB staff who are involved in or are interested in being involved in AI-related litigation.

The Equinet position paper paper Regulating for European AI that Protects and Advances Equality presents recommendations regarding the legislative proposal by the European Commission on which at present the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union seek to reach political agreement.

Equality Bodies possess a unique insight into the state of equality and non-discrimination. That knowledge is of utmost importance in the development, monitoring and impact assessments of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems.

This website shares information about the work of equality bodies and Equinet on AI, including publications, as well as relevant material about AI systems and their impact on equality and non-discrimination.

Equinet is the European Network of Equality Bodies, a membership organisation which promotes equality in Europe by supporting and enabling the work of national equality bodies. This website encompasses a dedicated space where members can exchange best practices and discuss cases.
